Apologies for the “late” views regarding the most awaiting DC film of 2021. I was a bit busy with my academic work due to which I failed to manage time on this particular job. As the title says, the upcoming DC film of 2021 will be Batman. The DC fans were demanding a solo batman film for a lot of years. The last time we saw a solo Batman film was in 2012 (The Dark Knight Rises).

When the news was circulated on the internet that Robert Pattinson will adore the mantle of Batman, I was partly disappointed by the decision of the director (Matt Reeves) and predicted a disastrous future of the DC universe. Not only me but most of the hardcore DC fans were criticizing this move of W.B (Warner Bros) and DC.

Ooh boy! I was so skeptic of this resolution. Robert Pattinson proved us wrong by displaying a fabulous glimpse of his performance which was enough to postulate the status and the nature of the film.

The teaser was full of murder, enigma, Riddles, Gangs, and the same old Dark days of Gotham. Undoubtedly, it gave me the vibes of Batman we saw in graphic novels.

Allow me to share my views regarding the teaser trailer of Batman.

1)     DC didn’t pay any attention to the Critics: DC and WB are habituated with all sorts of criticisms and backlash from film Gurus who loves to question the dark nature of the film. Due to the deprecations and dissatisfactions from various superhero fan clubs and critics DC tried to predispose itself with the style of filmmaking that serves to be blithesome, jovial, and lighthearted. This decision disappointed the hardcore DC fans until Warner bros dropped a trailer on joker which was way horrific and darker than the previous two installments ( Aquaman, Shazam). Joker  was a turning point for the DC universe. Batman teaser did turn out to be darker in terms of cinematography as well as concept, which was full of Rampage by the mob, a lunatic who loves to write riddles, and a young man trying to solve the mystery. All these features delineate a darker and bleak environment around a superhero. I hope the film will not disappoint.

2)     Detective mode is on: Another propitious aspect of this film was a different take on the iconic comic character. If you are hoping to witness some enticing CGI in this film then you may disappoint because after watching the trailer I can assure you that this film had inclined more towards the thriller facet rather than action. From the very first scene, we can see that Batman (Bruce Wayne) is solving cases and riddles that surround the deceased. In other words, we can say that the upcoming batman film may turn out to be more or less a crime/thriller sort of flick rather than a flashy and enticing action-packed film.

3)     A younger version of Bruce Wayne: One of the best decisions taken by DC was to devise a plot around a younger version of Batman. After witnessing a middle-aged vigilante in “Batman vs Superman” and “Justice League” the fans were disappointed with the physical appearance of Batman. Most of the fans lambasted the version of “caped crusader” portrayed by Ben Affleck. This time I think the critics will not get a chance to criticize the “Dark Knight” because the cast selection looks precise for the plot that revolves around enigmas and Gangs. Above all the DC fans will get relief from the same old Alien invasion concept which they had already witnessed in previous installments.

4) The villains: I would like to appreciate Matt Reeves for selecting Penguin and Riddler as the major Antagonists of this film. Having witnessed Joker in multiple DC movies had made me realize that DC is underestimating the rest of the villains included in the Batman storyline. It’s been years we haven’t seen the return of Riddler and Penguin on big screens but finally, the wait is over.

I would like to conclude by saying that we shouldn’t trust these trailers for drawing out a legitimate conclusion about this film and how it will be. We have to wait for 2021 to witness the greatness of the “Dark knight”. Till then you guys can stick with the comics.
