Why Bollywood should make a movie on "The Immortals Of Meluha"

One of the creative Indian authors who penned down his own fictional mythological universe was Amish Tripathi. His first book "The Immortals Of Meluha" hit the book stands back in 2011 which was subsequently followed by two other additions that completed the popular "Shiva trilogy".

One of the fascinating aspects of his works includes his style of writing that demonstrates a professional and a formal English that can impress a faction of readers irrespective of the usual age bar.

I personally find this book to be a better initiation point to get into the ancient world of Hinduism despite its fictional background. It's because of its characterization and an enthralling storyline supported by key references from the ancient Hindu texts that will somehow spark the hidden curiosity within a young reader. This imaginative move of fictionalizing one of the holiest deity of Hindus (shiva) into some sort of a "fierce warrior who turns into a god" can draw the attention of the young masses towards Hinduism.

Unfortunately, not all of them love to read books. There are few who eagerly wait for movies or film adaptations. Talking about films how can we forget the name of Bollywood.

Bollywood has been facing a lot of criticisms lately for its underwhelming film selections and adaptations. Nepotism had already ruined the standards of Bollywood and the filmmakers are relying on contents from another film Industries. It's obvious that the caliber of the industry is degrading.

what if these filmmakers show their interest in these types of books and dedicate themselves to turn it into a motion picture. This can uplift the standard of Bollywood.

From Karan johar to Sanjay Leela Bhansali both of them had shown their interest to make a film on this popular book by Amish. But somehow it never happened.

Allow me to mention certain reasons why "Immortals of Meluha" deserves a movie.

1) CHARACTERIZATION:

One of the positive aspects of this book is the characterization of the main protagonist i.e Shiva into some sort of a warrior/superhero who turns into a god. This subtle interpretation of a deity into a more modernized warrior who sets off in a journey that can change his life gives the character a debonair outlook that can successfully attract a lot of audience to the theatre if it ever made into a motion picture.

2) BOLLYWOOD CAN FORM IT'S OWN UNIVERSE:

Who doesn't like MCU and DCEU. India has a humongous fan following of these above mentioned fictional universes. What Bollywood lacks is a fictional universe that can attract audiences and viewers. With the addition of "The Secret of Nagas" and "The Oath of Vayuputras" (sequels to Immortals of Meluha), Bollywood can have its own 'universe' that is partially linked with Hinduism.
Isn't it sounds better to have a universe that can compete with the likes of MCU and DCEU.

3) STORYLINE:

One of the major qualities of this book is its storyline. The pristine representation of a fictional story that completely revolves around shiva can turn out to be a proper origin tale for the main protagonist. The adventures and scenes surrounding the main character can give the grandeur outlook to the story.

The only problem that can restrict the release of this film will be the immense backlash from the fundamentals.

Anyways it is on Bollywood. As a fan of Shiva trilogy, I am waiting for this unanticipated news of a movie based on "Immortals Of Meluha".
